There’s something about bags that I can’t resist. I never need another one – as it is, I have too many stuffed in various niches of my room already. I see one, though, and I think: I must have it.Coach bags are endlessly popular, the middle class luxury item. And I love the strong design elements and the cleanness of the line in Coach bags, though I’m not such a big fan of their recent detour into Technicolor. Prada is classic, and you know it and its discreet little triangular sigil will never let you down. Louis Vuitton, on the other hand, screams its presence; it is, in a word, a status symbol. But its designs are always clear and focused, and the quality of their materials is beyond belief. Which brings me to my personal, and most unaffordable, favorite: Hermes. I have an aunt, who married into my poor immigrant family about 15 years ago. She’s wonderfully kind, amusingly mischievous, with an earthy streak in her the size of Texas – she’s my favorite aunt. She also comes from money, and she buys the most beautiful clothes (she’ll only wear Chanel) and, of course, bags. From Hermes. For those of you not in the know, high-end Hermes bags can cost my college tuition for a year. Or all four years. There are waiting lists for the bags, the Birkins, the Kellys, the Mini-Birkins, because the company will not make a bag until it finds the perfect materials, the perfect leather pieces to assemble one. Oh, a Hermes bag is poetry in luxury. Some of these feeds below are commercialized, for ease of buying. To buyers: I wish you well. And I’ll envy your every purchase. But whether you’re buying, or, like me, just looking, these feeds will evoke those same feelings of desire and respect for clever beauty and design. As much as I love Alexander McQueen and couldn't comprehend the possibility of anyone saying 'nay' to one of his bags, I also fully understand that stamped patent leather is not for everyone and this Blow oversized hobo *may* be a case in point.

What attracted me to this bag in an instant, aside from the cool name, was the remarkably pretty deep teal colour. But upon closer inspection there are a lot of other qualities about this bag which have me captivated.

Blake Lively on her way to work in the "Watch me work" bag by Celine. I am not a fan of these boorish bags and the black crocodile just makes it even more old-- doesn't it seem just a tad on the mature side for this young lovely? Reminds me of myself at that age, trying to impress with bags that were beyond my...
